21/07/21 – MIPLACE was represented at the recent European Biotechnology and Society Seminar Series that formed part of the ERA CoBioTech’s work on responsible research and innovation (RRI) and biotechnology.  Jose Jimenez and Joanne Benton (both ICL) spoke about the project and plans for RRI and stakeholder engagement during the final session entitled Responsible innovation as social learning in ERA CoBioTech.  Also presenting in this session were Robert Smith (University of Edinburgh), Thoko Kamwendo (Durham University) and Eleanor Hadley Kershaw (University of Nottingham).  An engaging Q & A session followed the presentations and included discussions on using information from stakeholder interviews, funding and when to introduce RRI to the next generation of scientists.  A review of the entire seminar series can be found here, slides from the MIPLACE presentation here and a link to the seminar recording here.
