15/06/22 – Our partners at the University of Valencia have recently taken part in two outreach activities. The first event was part of the Amgen Transfer Programme which aims to promote science and technical careers to secondary and high school students. Seventy students, aged 15-16, took part in the event which included discussions on the impact that biotechnology and microbiology research has on our daily lives and a practical session. In this session, the students carried out DNA extraction and gel electrophoresis. The second event, part of ExpoCiencia 2022, was aimed at younger children and included painting microorganisms, painting with yeasts and making microorganisms with playdough. A lot of fun was had by everyone!
