25/11/21 – MIPLACE partners met remotely today for another very successful general assembly. There were excellent presentations describing the progress made towards: microbial hydrolysis of PET and PU; engineering synthetic communities using plastic as feedstock; synthetic microbial communities for monomer production; systems level analysis and design of enhanced communities; and synthesis and characterization of Bio-PU. There were also presentations that addressed responsible research and innovation (RRI), stakeholder engagement and life cycle assessment. It was a welcome opportunity for MIPLACE partners to spend the day talking about microbial degradation and upcycling of plastic waste!
