18/03/21 –  MIPLACE was introduced in the Enzymatic Recycling session at the Global Research and Innovation in Plastics Sustainability (GRIPS) conference this week. Project Coordinator, Jose Jimenez, described the aim and approach of the project and the roles of the five MIPLACE partners.  Together, the three presentations in this session generated a lot of interest in the enzymatic approach to tackling plastic (mainly PET) waste.  The speakers were invited to comment on a range of questions relating to the scale-up of enzymatic recycling, bi-products of the process, product separation techniques and how to deal with composites.  These and other questions led to an engaging and informative Q and A session.  See the slides and watch the presentation.
